In 2012, the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) celebrates 100 years of protecting Kentucky's financial interests. DFI traces its origin to the Banking Act of 1912. To commemorate this milestone anniversary, DFI held a Centennial Event on July 11, 2012 in Frankfort. The event included networking time and a panel of present and former DFI commissioners who discussed how the department and the industry have changed over the years.
