April is Financial Literacy Month
The Kentucky Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, a nonprofit group in which OFI is a member, hosted a press conference in the Capitol rotunda on April 18 to celebrate Financial Literacy Month and announce the national and Kentucky-specific results of the biennial financial literacy survey. During this event, Gov. Steve Beshear signed a proclamation declaring April 2008 to be Financial Literacy Month in Kentucky.

2008 marks the fourth year the Kentucky Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy petitioned the governor to have April dedicated to financial literacy. More information about Jump$tart, including the press release announcing the press conference and test results, can be found on Kentucky Jump$tart's Web site.
